Red Cross Computer Center was started in 1998 with the efforts of S.Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi,I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner ,Faridkot and Secretary, Red Cross Society, Faridkot.
At that time, Computer Education was very costly and it was not affordable for Economically weak students, specially from the villages. So different courses covering the latest softwares were started at nominal fee. Main emphasis was given on quality education and giving students hand on training on real life projects.
Now, RCC is associated with CAL-C, A IT division of Punjab Infotech Chandigarh. The courses offered by CAL-C are recognized by leading universties like PTU, GNDU, KSOU and Sikkam Manipal University. From the year 2010, joint PGDCA has been started by CAL-C and Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh.
Punjab Infotech, an ISO 9001:2008 corporation, is the premier agency of the state government in facilitating establishment of IT and IT enabled service's (ITES) industry in Punjab, and training human resources for this industries. CAL-C provides focused software, hardware, networking and ITES courses with technical inputs from industry leaders.
Even small course like Office Automation (120hr) has enabled many students to get Data Entry Operator jobs in many Private and Govt. Departments.
